checked in with old friends last week. they are elbows deep in middle american misery. isolation, shame & sugar cycles. i tried to avoid that by moving to europe, and it worked… thing i realized is that great american art & music walks hand in hand with that misery, as does the simple cozy euro life bundle so well with entitlement and artistic stagnation. so i’m back in massachusetts, gambling. this country is ready to eat us alive, but fuck it… you don’t need to suffer. that’s not it. it’s about depth, distance, light and dark, pretty things & all the dirt that goes along with this motherfucker … don’t forget the struggle, don’t forget the streets, don’t sell out
