food blasphemy

in honor of obama, economic armageddon, and our imminent departure from germany, we’ve been indulging in some usa-themed junk food here at drumcorps hq. here we have some traditional american tuna fish pizza. i love that slogan, about sums it up.

ah yes, an american classic.

this one they almost got right, except for the whole cheese and ketchup pre-installed under the dog thing. the bun is basically a bread tube sliced perfectly in half, with the consistency of a panini. not entirely unpleasant.

genghis tron remixes vol.3

the new genghis tron remix 12″ is  out now on relapse, with remixes by phillip cope, drumcorps, scott hull, danny lohner, and ulver.  this release is the third in a five part series spanning five different record labels (temporary residence, lovepump united, relapse, anticon, and crucial blast respectively). some of the other participating artists include justin broderick, tim hecker, and telefon tel aviv.

sometimes things just click. one of the best shows, ever, in many ways. if you were there you know. no one got good video due to the total darkness, but it’s almost better that way. massive thanks to brandon & the 5lowershop crew for putting it all together, to animosity, realicide, and all the other music that evening, and special thanks to everyone in the house – both returning and new people who had to seek out the place – you gave us road-worn musicians a renewed faith in the power of music, friendship, and dedication ….. somehow the whole event reached that elusive golden mean between seriousness and pure fun. we will be seeing more of you soon.
